Pub refit marks a bright new future

Gosport pub poised to become community hub after £250k refit

Have your say

Christmas and New Year’s Eve is behind us and now it’s time to say, ‘hello’ to 2013.

We are yet to see what our clubs are going to offer us in this New Year, but judging it on this week, it’s going to be a bit of mid-week mayhem.

It seems that new kids on the block,Skye Bar are kicking things off on Monday with the official pre-club for Delight at Pure.

DJ Daddy Alex will be playing the best in alternative music from metal to dub step. It’s the surefire way to start any Monday night and especially good preparation for the raucous sounds of Delight.

The night kicks off around 9pm and entry is free.

If you are a fan of DJ Daddy Alex, then get yourself down to Babylon on Tuesday night for their most popular night, Babylon Rocks.

With drinks from £1.50 all night, Daddy Alex and the UPSU Rock Society bring you a night that truly rocks.

Entry is £4 or £2 with NUS or Yellow Card and is free to UPSU Rock Society members before midnight.

Also at Liquid this week is a great night for students. Head down to Liquid & Envy on Thursday night for Vodka Republic.

This dedicated student night offers one the best experiences in Portsmouth purely because of the wide variety of things to do.

This isn’t your typical student night at all.

Attractions include dancers, stilt walkers, chocolate fountains, Vodka Angels girls and Vodka Sharks boys, giant on-stage Wii Sports, flame machines and free sweets and ice poles. It almost makes me wish I was a student again.

Drink offers include bottles of VK flavours and Stella for £1.60, Sambucca and tequila slammers for £1.60 and Jagerbombs and vodka and Red Bull for just £2.10.

So, why not let the organisers, Eskimo 11, make your student life a little more exciting this week? Entry is £4.50 or pre-order tickets at
