Gosport pub poised to become community hub after £250k refit

Have your say

After managing to survive the zombie pandemic that was Discreet last Saturday, life is slowly returning to normal.

That event was one of my all-time favourite parties and I highly recommend it, so keep your eyes open for the next one.

Tonight is this month’s Swanky Sessions upstairs at Drift Bar in Palmerston Road.

As always the Swanky team promise to bring you the best in House and Techno from local talent.

This month they feature DJ duo Soul Status and the regular face of Sam Clark, along with some new Swanky acts, DJ Tantrum and Adicon. Entry is free before 10pm but more after.

Tomorrow there is a variety of events going on that cover all sorts of genres.

Starting at Bar 56 from 9pm until 1am Throwback presents Block Party, a new hip hop night in town.

Bringing you the best in hip hop and funk it’s the perfect way spend a Saturday night.

Entry will be £1 all night if you want to see the likes of resident Towa and guests Fly Mic and Pimpernel Jones.

Moving over to Envy from 10pm until 2.30am you have Waster. Previously a Friday night event it has now been upgraded to a Saturday and continues to fill your ears with a mixture of indie, electro, punk, rock and rave. This week you are treated to special guest DJ Gary Powell from The Libertines.

Drinks are £2 all night and entry is £4 or free for students before 11pm.

Last stop is The Astoria for the weekly residency of Amplified Sessions, where week after week they bring you a whole host of DJ superstars.

Due to this the events are insanely busy and often sell out in advance so make sure you get your tickets from resident advisor in advance for £6.

This week they bring you George Fitzgerald from the Hotflush Recordings.

The London-bred DJ’s style combines the warm melodic side of house and garage with the pounding beats of dubstep and techno. For VIP tables email .
