CLUB SCENE with Char Edmonds

Have your say

I wanted to start this week by saying how good Andrew Robertson was last week when he played his first live Trance set at The Old Barn before Slinky resident Tim Lyall.

That is a bedroom DJ turned pro, I would say. Let’s hope we see more of him on the Portsmouth scene.

Tonight sees the first venture of those cheeky chaps the Monkey Love Stunt Team to Southsea Castle to provide you with the soundtrack to one of the Champagne Bar events from 6pm until midnight.

That’s right, somebody has actually let these guys loose to get stunty in a castle.

They will however be on their best behaviour, with their music selected to suit the style of the night, playing you the finest in funk, soul , Motown and hip hop to keep your toes tapping over a nice glass of Prosecco.

So head down and join FlyMic, Chissie Rascal, Foghorn and Le Fish for a night you won’t forget for a while.

Tomorrow night continues with the monthly residency of The Kindergarten Sessions at Flamingos Bar on Albert Road from 8pm until 1am.

Their aim is to fill your ears with some top quality US and old skool house music and their promise is that it will be 100% vinyl only.

DJs Nicky K and Moses Matt have hand-selected some of their finest vinyl gems for your listening pleasure.

As standard, entry will be free all night.

Also on tomorrow is the second instalment of Snug at The Old Barn from 8.30pm until 1.30am.

The old but new local concept where the DJs playing get the full appreciation of the door money made on the night.

Entry is only £1 but all proceeds go to the acts of the night, who will be playing a massive five-hour set, allowing them to take you to many different places.

This time get ready for The Business Partners. I am yet to see a disappointing set from these guys. They absolutely love a party and they love it more when you are going nuts with them. Don’t miss out.
