Last weekend I ventured across the seas to the Isle of Wight Festival, in support of some of Portsmouth’s local talented brands.
Ickle Bambino Raves, the Monkey Love Stunt Team and Beats & Swing absolutely smashed it and showed everyone how it is done festival stylee.
Speaking of Beats & Swing, it is their turn to host the Southsea Bandstand tomorrow.
Taking the lead and hosting the show will be Tom Mayhem with a lovely selection of acts to get you dancing this weekend.
With music starting at 1pm head down early to ensure you get a front row spot with your picnic blankets and get ready for sets from Cuba Libre, Basement83 and Big Child Man Child.
I am as excited as a kid at Christmas to see Big Child Man Child perform, the amazing vocals of Matt Jarvis combined with the beats produced by Lloyd Hoy and Steve Probert aka The Business Partners.
Set your alarms and do not miss this.
Next up, as far as I am aware, we have the first boat party of the year and this one belongs to the Lush FM team.
They will set sail from Gunwarf Quays with two decks of music from 7.30pm.
The main deck will fill your ears with all that is House and Garage, meanwhile on the lower deck mix it up a bit with Drum and Bass and Jungle. There is something for everyone.
There will also be a secret afterparty, location to be announced on the day, until 3am. Boat party tickets are £20, and after party is just £5, all available from lushfm.net
Finally, from 9pm until 1.30am tomorrow The Barn welcome Soul Status who have flown in a special guest all the way from Australia to kick start with the launch party to his UK tour.
Fables has been released on Andrew Grants label, Better on Foot and takes you on a musical journey filled with dark, dubby, melodic techno.
Warming things up nicely for him will be local DJ Yost, and following him will be talented DJ and Producer Kris Davis.
Join them for a night of techno for just £4 on the door.
