Remember remember some blazing clubnights

Pub refit marks a bright new future

Gosport pub poised to become community hub after £250k refit

Have your say

If you want a really banging night this November 5, forget the fireworks and remember your local clubs instead.

First off this weekend is a great night I was lucky enough to experience last week at Oceana. Tonight’s instalment of Friday Night Mash Up is set to be a good one and it’s down to the expert delivery.

Two fantastic DJs control the evening. Join DJ Mark Hatton for all the latest and greatest anthems or accompany Dan Mills for a trip down memory lane as he brings back all the biggest classic tracks. This is one of my favourite new nights and is definitely worth a look if you like new and old club tunes. Entry costs £5 on the door, but if you get there before 11pm, you’ll get free entry via Bar Quarter.

Another reason to remember November 5 is Little Johnny Russell’s birthday. Yes, one of Albert Road’s favourite haunts is celebrating it’s fifth anniversary tomorrow night.

If you need an excuse to pull you away from the firework displays, this is it. Not only is it LJR’s special day, but they have got Foals in to mark the night with a DJ set.

The atmospheric indie rockers will be playing a great mix of their favourite music as well as songs from artists that inspired them to do what they do.

Entry costs £3 on the door

Nuts magazine called it ‘Quite simply, the best student event ever!’ and now it returns to Portsmouth.

Carnage will hit the city tomorrow night for a special fancy dress, students and freshers event and they’re going prehistoric. It’s cavemen versus cavewomen so, grab your mace and loin cloth and join in with the fun.

Get in there tonight and order your £10 T-shirt from and enjoy the bar and club crawl starting at Pure and moving on to The Lyberry, Yates’, Fuzzy Duck and finishing at Liquid & Envy. A bargain.

Some T-shirts may also be available on the night. The crawl starts at 7pm.
