Portsmouth’s Bar 38 to close its doors today

Have your say

It’s the end of term for all of the students in the city. But, if you are looking for a way to celebrate the end of all your hard work, you’ll have to wait until Monday.

First off, Guildhall Walk’s fastest growing venue, Club 8, has a night to keep you up to date with all the latest music – showcasing two great DJs tonight with Rewind & Déjà vu.

DJ Stu (in Rewind) has been on the DJ scene for over a decade and still manages to wow the Club 8 crowds with his special music video montages on the big screen.

Since starting back in 2005, DJ-A has come a long way in a short space of time, already having the opportunities to work alongside and warm-up for names like Tim Westwood, N-Dubz and Artful Dodger. He’ll be in Déjà vu.

Entry is free.

As it’s the second Friday of the month, it’s time for Wolf Club in the Edge of the Wedge.

Brought to you by Rob Troubadour and Carl Lemon (who run OMG! at The Registry), Wolf Club is the ultimate night for fans of indie music playing a great range from Foo Fighters to Florence + the Machine and Kasabian to the Kings of Leon.

Doors open at 9pm and it’s free to get in.

As previously mentioned, for the students, Fuzzy Logic are back on Monday with their End of Term party at Liquid. Expect the usual mayhem, games, cheap drinks and some of the best music around including the best in mainstream dance, electro, r ‘n’ b and indie.

Entry costs £6 on the door or £4.50 if you book online at

Finally, Tiger Tiger are teaming-up with Rough Hill Promotions again on Monday night for Plus 1, Portsmouth’s newest student night.

This club night is all about the music with three auditory experiences to please everyone’s tastes.

The Tiger Bar will be raising the roof with hip hop and r ‘n’ b, Club Groovy will experience a blast from the past with all the best music from the 1990s and all the latest and biggest house tunes and electro beats will be featured in The Club.
