Have your say

Big news starts this week’s clubs column. It’s not often that a venue gets so popular that its name get gets shortened to just two syllables but that’s exactly what happened with ‘The Reg’.

The venue at 1 St Michael’s Road became The Kraken Wakes almost a year ago but tonight it returns to its former name, keeping the exciting live music, DJs, quizzes and a top quality food and drink from its days as the Kraken.

Portsmouth local and newly appointed manager of The Registry, Will Huntington, says, ‘I was a student at Portsmouth Uni before moving to London to run pubs. The Registry was an integral part of my student and local life. I’m really excited to take over the reigns and bring it back to Portsmouth. Expect all the fun of the Registry from times gone by, but now with regular quality live bands and a great range of beers, lagers and home-made food.’

Get down there tonight and support the come-back. Resident DJs will be taking you on a musical journey through the years of the dance floor fillers with ‘All Night Long’. The night runs from 8pm until 2am and entry is free.

Meanwhile, to celebrate St Patrick’s Day, Tiger Tiger presents Irish Party Week until Sunday.

Join them tonight celebrating Irish-style with 50 per cent off all Irish drinks. Not only that but all their club rooms will be open to help you keep moving with some Irish hits thrown in for good measure.

Hed Kandi is back at Liquid & Envy tomorrow night with flavours from the beach as they give you World Series: Miami with global DJs Jamie Richards and Dan Morten.

They will be laying down the tracks from America’s most infamous dance music hotspots. Admission is £6.50 on the door or £4.88 at
