Portsmouth’s Bar 38 to close its doors today

Have your say

The Easter break is drawing ever closer and the build-up is certainly good enough to get us there in style if not slightly messy.

Recently, The Kraken Wakes switched management and the venue was changed back to its former, more apt, name The Registry.

Most of the regular nights have been tweaked and tinkered with and Saturday night, they present one of my new favourites.

If drum ‘n’ bass is your thing, UPdnb return to the ‘new Registry’ for another round of bass heavy tunes tomorrow night. This month they have Breaknecks’ finest DJ Charge and Triple M. You’ll also see the return of DJ competition winner Deficit.

Don’t forget you’ll also get rocked by the resident DJs Kontakt and Mota.

The best thing is that entry is completely free before 10pm. After that it is £3 or £2 if you are a Regulars card holder.

Love Social are presenting their self-dubbed ‘best under 18 Easter clubbing experience in the UK’ on Tuesday night at Liquid & Envy.

The resident DJs will be pumping up the dance floor as they play the biggest tunes around at the moment including house, r’n’b, pop and your favourite classics for you to boogie the night away to. Not only that but MK1 and Roll Deep vocalist Jodie Connor will be performing live.

School is out and there should always be a place for under 18s to party responsibly without having to break the law and this is it. Get your friends together and enjoy these ever so rare nights for you.

Tickets are £7 and includes free use of the cloakroom and unlimited free soft drinks all night. Tickets online are just £5. The runs from 7pm until 11pm.

Also, at Liquid this week is a great night for all of you students in the city.

Head down to Liquid & Envy on Thursday night for Vodka Republic.

This dedicated student night offers one the best experiences in Portsmouth purely because the wide variety of things to do. This isn’t your typical student night at all.

Attractions include dancers and stilt walkers, chocolate fountains, Vodka Angels girls and Vodka Sharks boys, giant on-stage Wii Sports, flame machines and free sweets and ice poles.

It almost makes me wish I was a student again.

Drink offers include bottles of VK flavours and Stella for £1.60, Sambucca and tequila slammers for also £1.60 and Jagerbombs and vodka and Red Bull for just £2.10.

So, why not let the organizers, Eskimo 11 make your student life a little more exciting this week.

Entry is £4.50 on the door or £3.38 at liquidclubs.com/portsmouth.
