Council join initiative to offer free later life workshop

The Later Life Transitions Community Workshop will be held at Portsmouth Central Library on September 3.

Organised by life transition initiative Envisage, the free event will include advice on topics including money management, state pensions, health and managing change.

Peter Goodall, Envisage’s head of workshop delivery, said: ‘This event explores what opportunities there might be for a more positive and fulfilled later life and will help give individuals a real sense of hope and confidence for their future.’

Luke Stubbs, cabinet member for adult and social care, acknowledges how difficult it can be for some people to get advice on retirement.

He said: ‘If people are better prepared for the changes later life brings, then they can enjoy their retirement.’
