Delve deep into the history of Dickens
THE CHARLES Dickens Birthplace Museum is inviting visitors for a reading of some of the legendary author's works this weekend.
Patrons at the museum in Old Commercial Road tomorrow will be treated to the reading from a member of the Dickens Fellowship from 3pm.
The Birthplace Branch of the Dickens Fellowship will hold its next meeting at St Swithun’s Church Hall in Southsea the following week.
The meeting on September 13, which starts at 2.30, will feature a talk from Prof Tony Pointon on the life of 18th century Portsmouth-based philanthropist Joseph Hanway.
