Fareham nursery's joy at '˜amazing' fundraiser for children's charity

BABIES and toddlers have crawled, waddled and jogged their way to an impressive sum for a children's charity.

More than 130 children from the Starfish Day Nursery took part in a week-long charity challenge, which drummed up £857 for Barnardos.

The tots, aged from three months to four years, tackled a mini assault course over five days as part of the Fareham nursery’s Toddle for Barnados fundraiser.

Teresa Metherell, nursery manager, said she was overwhelmed by the support.

‘It’s been one of our best-ever fundraisers,’ she said.

‘We had only set ourselves a target of £250. We smashed this and raised £857 – and the money is still coming in.

‘We have done absolutely brilliantly, it feels awesome.’
