Flog It experts on the hunt for a new gem

A HIT antiques television show will soon be hunting for hidden gems in Portsmouth.

Flog It will be visiting the city’s Royal Marines Museum, in Esplanade, Southsea, on Thursday, November 10.

And residents are being invited to show off up to three items they fancy selling to a panel of antiques experts on the BBC One programme.

If lucky, punters could see their goods going under the hammer at auction – where they could make a tidy profit.

The Flog It team will be at the museum from 9.30am to 4pm, with valuations going on throughout the day.

Paul Martin, presenter of Flog It, said: ‘I’m thrilled to be bringing the show back to Hampshire. I’m really looking forward to filming at the Royal Marines Museum and hope as many people as possible will come along for a free valuation.

‘To help us tell the story of Eastney Barracks I’d be particularly pleased to meet anyone who has items relating to the site’s history.’

The BBC is making four editions of the show, featuring the Royal Marines Museum, which will be transmitted within 18 months of being recorded.

It comes after Strictly Come Dancing duo Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton visited the Historic Dockyard last month.
