As ABBAmania took to the stage and belted out Waterloo, the audience were out of their seats quicker than you can say Mamma Mia!
In all my years, I can’t recall a show I’ve been to that had such an imminent impact on the crowd. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish, I felt like I was a part of a massive hen party.
This show is the original tribute act from London’s West End, delighting fans all over the country since its formation in 1999.
The talented foursome rattled through the hits including Voulez Vous, Dancing Queen and Super Trouper. ‘Agnetha’ impressed with her version of The Winner Takes It All, showcasing effortless vocals whilst capturing the heightened emotion of the song.
I can’t hide my disappointment of the omission of Does Your Mother Know. This was simply used as a backing track whilst the band took their well-deserved applause.
However, it did not spoil what otherwise was a wonderful show. Special mention must be given the lighting designer as it was stunning throughout.
It is a shame more tickets were not sold as based on the talent, this is a show that is not to be missed.
