Soul legend Geno Washington will be demonstrating his unsurpassable reputation as a live performer with an intimate show in Portsmouth.
As part of the Guildhall’s Live Lounge series, Geno will perform alongside popular session guitarist Greg Lester in the exclusive setting of the Café Guildhall.
Rising to fame in the 60s with the Ram Jam Band, Geno now enjoys cult status on the soul, R&B, blues and northern soul scenes and can list Georgie Fame, The Small Faces and Jimi Hendrix among his former support acts.
Geno was recently invited to play to a sell-out audience as part of the prestigious annual Lord’s Taverners chaity fundraiser at The Royal Albert Hall and was also picked by Ray Davies to play as the main act at The Royal Festival Hall at his Summer Meltdown finale.
Geno plays Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday, September 18 Tickets: £12-£14, £24 with a two-course dinner from portsmouthguildhall.org.uk, dinner at 7pm. Show starts at 8pm.
