An international award-winning quartet will play music by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Brahms in a Portsmouth Chamber Music concert at the Guildhall on Monday, January 19 (7.30pm).

The Benyounes String Quartet, formed at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in 2007 and winners of the Sandor Vegh competition in Budapest five years later, has since performed in major venues in London, Vienna and other European centres.

Monday’s programme begins with quartets by Haydn and Mendelssohn and ends with Brahms’s Op 51 No 2 in A minor.

Tickets cost £16 (concessions £14) from 0844 453 9028 or in person from the Guildhall.
