Mark Griffiths and Ben Rouse, a pair of experienced and talented ukulele musicians, saw a gap in the music scene to bring global ukulele talent to the south coast.
And next weekend that comes to life as the first ever Grand Southern Ukulele Festival.
The pair wanted to put on an event that would showcase how versatile and exciting the ukulele can be to a wider audience and put Portsmouth on the ukulele map with the three-day event, which starts on Friday, October, 9.
As well as shows at The Kings Theatre and Wedgewood Rooms, there will be workshops, jam sessions, stalls, open mic shows, late night cabaret and more.
Weekend tickets are £44.
