Principal conductor Kirill Karabits will begin the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s 2014-15 Portsmouth Guildhall season with music by three giants of the Austro-German repertoire.

The concert on Friday, October 3 (7.30pm) opens with Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture followed by American pianist and scholar Robert Levin playing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 1.

The programme ends with a revival of the first symphony by Brahms, which launched the Ukrainian conductor’s acclaimed cycle at the end of the 2013-14 season.
