A PORTSMOUTH-based funk band is calling on its fans to help them win a global battle of the bands.
Heir of the Dog are riding high in the voting of the London leg of the Hard Rock Rising competition.
The overall winner will play in front of up to 60,000 people on the mainstage at the Hard Rock Rising festival in Barcelona, Spain, in July.
They are currently fourth out of 310 bands.
Band manager Lee Miller said: ‘This would be massive for us if we won, plus it would show people how good the Portsmouth music scene is at the moment.’
The top eight bands will do battle at the Hard Rock Cafe in London, where a panel of local music industry judges will pick a winner. The winning band goes forward to a regional final. Each of the regional winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Barcelona, to perform at Hard Rock Cafe Barcelona for the final live battle event.
