STARS DJ Fresh and BBC Radio 1 presenters Zane Lowe and Pete Tong are headlining a new dance music festival in Portsmouth.
Mutiny in the Park takes place on Saturday, July 19, in Victoria Park and is organised by television channel MTV and businesses in the city including The Astoria in Guildhall Walk.
More than 3,000 people are expected to descend on the park for the one-day dance music festival.
Luke Betts, one of the owners of the nightclub, said: ‘It’s good for Portsmouth because the city does not have a large venue where these DJs would perform.
‘Places like Brighton have the Brighton Centre.
‘One of these artists could play at the Guildhall but not all at one time.
‘To have a space like Victoria Park is amazing and the city council has got really behind it.
‘It is great for us to be involved and it’s great that we could help secure this for Portsmouth.
‘MTV is doing these sort of events at V Festival this year and at Exit Festival in Serbia.
‘These are the cream of the crop people and now they will be in our city.’
