Samba band to perform by ferry terminal

Have your say

My first experience of Amsterdam was unreal. The ADE was amazing, with some pretty creative parties. Lets hope Portsmouth can keep up.

First up tonight, Flamingos Bar on Albert Road, Southsea, is being hijacked by local legend Darren Page from 7pm until 1am.

Due to the popularity of his last visit he is gracing the decks again with a blend of the best house, hip hop and R’n’B available. Join the fun with free entry all night.

Also tonight, and just along the road, It’s A Sin are back at The Wedgewood Rooms from 11pm until 2.30am with free entry all night as well.

You may have caught them at the Isle of Wight, Victorious or Southsea Festival this year, playing their best mix of 80s, 90s and smash-hit party tunes. This time it’s the turn of DJs Ashley Taylor and Billy Colburn plus a special birthday appearance from the hairy man that is DJ Carl Wood. Don’t miss seeing Carl let his hair down.

Tomorrow, will be the first in what I hope is a long line of parties at The Wine Vaults from 8.30pm.

Kicking off Meanwhile at the Vaults, Mark Persuad has invited the crazy bunch of fun-loving, tune-smashing party animals, known to most as the Monkey Love Stunt Team.

It will be fun, unpredictable, hectic and you will love every minute of it.

Lastly, this week Amplified Sessions have pulled out all the stops.

From 10pm until 2am The Astoria basement will be filled with the beats of Route 94 with a side order of resident duo The Business Partners.

Meanwhile upstairs, Playground South have none other than Jaguar Skills with them for the evening.

So that’s one venue, two headliners.

And you want an afterparty too? They wouldn’t want to disappoint – from 2am until 5am they also open Amplified After Hours at the nearby The Fleet in King Henry I Street with yet another headliner in the shape of DJ Nolan.

If you want to join this action packed event tickets are £12.50 available from Resident Advisor, after party tickets are £5.
