Last week I attended the ticket launch for the Discreet New Year’s Day event. Now I can’t really remember much of New Year’s Days in the past, but I do remember there is never much to do.
It is definitely worth keeping an eye out for how to get one of the remaining tickets. Check out Discreet’s Facebook page for more details
I also stopped off at Bar 56 where DJs Fly Mike and Andy Moore were causing sweaty havoc and keeping everyone entertained with their boyish charms.
I even had the pleasure of meeting Mama and Papa Fly who were out for a night on the town.
Tonight, from 7.30pm until 1am, Forward take on their weekly residency at Flamingos Bar on Albert Road.
Kick-starting your weekend with their fun-loving style, resident DJs Dan Morten and Reece Hewer will warm up your eardrums to get them ready for their special guest.
Also this week – he doesn’t need much introduction, as he’s been around and knows exactly what he’s talking about - but get ready for an evening with DJ Laurence Reed. Laurence isn’t just popular in Portsmouth, as his DJ career sees him take on gigs all over the place and his popularity continues to grow, with recent releases on Murge Recordings such as a collaboration with Scientific Funk called What Am I Going To Be?
Head down and take a listen as it is free entry all night.
Tomorrow night, from 10pm until 2am, Playground South are back at The Astoria ready to get you dancing from start to finish.
This week they bring you DJ duo Bondax, with their bouncy house and garage, they have been causing a storm up and down the country over the recent months.
Just to keep the night interesting, Amplified Sessions have also invited DJ Lance Morgan to lurk with them in the basement, providing some deep minimal techno, so you will be spoilt for choice for the evening.
Support for the night will come from the resident DJs.
Don’t miss out, tickets are £10 available from Resident Advisor.
