CLUB SCENE with Char Edmonds

Have your say

Last weekend I managed to show my face at a couple of different places. Firstly, Liz C in control of the tunes upstairs in Drift Bar. She was incredible and caused a huge stir

Then I made my way to see the Lush FM team who were blasting the beats and creating some serious fun times.

Tonight the Concrete Music guys are kicking up a storm at The Wedgewood Rooms from 10pm until 2.30am. Welcome, Mike Skinner from The Streets. I already have a feeling this is going to be something special, as Mike has already secured a Brit Award and an Ivor Novello.

It’s been 14 years since the release of his album Original Pirate Material and he is now pushing upwards with his DJ sets.

His musical choices are varied and will keep you on your toes, from house to hip hop with drum and bass and UK garage. You will not be disappointed.

Supporting him will be the Concrete DJs.

To get involved buy tickets for £10 from Resident Advisor.

Tomorrow there is a selection of madness for you to choose from.

Firstly, the legend that is Bongo Dave will be live and loud, creating some of his trademark sounds at Flamingos Bar on Albert Road from 7pm until 3am.

If you used to frequent Bar Blu back in the day then you will know exactly who he is. Joining him will be a whole host of DJs providing the best in house and old skool classics all night long.

It is also free entry all night.

Then just across the road the Monkeylove Stunt Team are out in force to give you a spring wedgie at The Wedgewood Rooms from 10pm until 3am for their first takeover of 2015.

And what better way to initiate you into their madness than to offer you a chance to win a super-generous, slightly crazy, party-starting £100 bar tab .

Look them up on Facebook for an entry form.

They have also invited some special guests in the shape of COR DJs Mark Persaud and Steve Laming.

Life is short, so stunt it with Foghorn, Flymic, Le Fish and Chissie Rascal.

Free before 11pm, £5 after.
