So those legendary rude boys Madness are in town this weekend.
I am gutted I won’t get the chance to see them as it’s sold out, but luckily if you haven’t got a ticket there are a fair few events this weekend to entertain you.
Tonight see’s the return of District. They will be taking over the Lounge N Theme on Granada Road in Southsea from 9pm, having secured not one but two headline acts from recognized music labels such as Cuff and Audio Rehab.
In the main room you will find headline acts Apollo 84 and Nightshift with support from local DJs Ash Foster, Sam Eynon and James Foster.
Meanwhile, Lush FM step up for room two with Portsmouth talent including: Jason Foy, Dan Smith, Brandon Lilly and Jack Figgins.
Expect only the best house, garage and bass all night, with advance tickets £10, more on the door.
Tomorrow, the Monkey Love Stunt Team have only managed to secure the chance to cause havoc at the Bandstand on Southsea Common for the day.
Enough said really.
These guys really need no introduction, join them, have fun, you know you want to!
Also tomorrow, as one of the events aiming to support the Madness rush, House Knights return bringing you Our House at Cue Ball snooker club on Goldsmith Avenue in Fratton from 9pm until 1pm.
Supplying your ears with a soundtrack of acid, house, techno, trance, club classics and much more, there is something for everyone.
Entry is £2 on the door.
The Old Barn will be offering an epic Pre & After party to the Madness gig, and it is just a five minute walk away.
Head over from 1pm for a SKA-BQ. Not only are they aiming to warm you up nicely with DJs spinning some quality ska, reggae and 2-Tone tracks, they are also cooking up a Caribbean feast on the barbecue.
Open until 3am, you may as well head there after too to continue the fun.
Entry is free before 10pm.
