CLUB SCENE with Char Edmonds

Have your say

I want to start with a massive: ‘Well done’, to everyone who was involved with the Victorious festival.

It was amazing from start to finish and to have a team of people dedicating their time to bring something like that to our doorstep is brilliant.

Rachel Grech did an unbelievable job with the kids’ arena, including a packed tent from the Ickle Bambino Baby Raves team.

But the personal highlight for me was the Beats & Swing tent: Just wow! With stand out sets from the Monkey Love Stunt Team and a headline-worthy performance by Big Child Man Child it stole the show.

Tomorrow night from 8pm until 2am, House Knights are taking control of the Cue Ball Snooker Club on Goldsmith Avenue.

This time round they present ‘Our House’ and want to take you on a trip down memory lane as special guests Tipper and Smilax come out of retirement just for the occasion.

Joining them on the line up and bringing you all that is old skool, you will see MC Lucky, Ham Rice and Lee Banks to name but a few.

This event has great vibes from start to finish, with a whole host of cheap drinks to get you in the mood.

Entry is £3 on the door.

If you don’t feel like house and want a bit of trance in your life, then you could always head down to the Old Barn at Milton.

There you will find the latest instalment of Rise, an event dedicated to all that is trance.

Tomorrow they will be letting one of Portsmouth’s fastest rising stars on the scene lose on the decks.

Dan Thompson is headlining!

Dan was actually my first real introduction to trance music and I have enjoyed anything he does ever since.

This time though, instead of the international stages he is fast becoming accustomed to he will be exhibiting his full range of music over a five-hour set in an intimate setting for only 100 people.

Pay what you want for entry, but remember all money goes to the DJ so show your appreciation.
