There are plenty of opportunities for free festival fun this weekend with the Southsea summer bandstand concerts and gigs at the Southsea Show Roadshow and Taste of Gunwharf Quays.

· At the bandstand, in West Battery Gardens, it’s all about funk, soul and Motown on Saturday as two of Portsmouth’s best party nights take to the bandstand for Funktifino v The Monkey Love Stunt Team. Then, on Sunday, the focus is the 1960s as The Mods and Mojo Dollar perform.

· Meanwhile, to celebrate this summer’s return of the Southsea Show, there’s a Southsea Show Roadshow today in Palmerston Road. Alongside street dance troupes, piloxing (a mix of boxing and pilates) tasters, a huge market of local traders, food from Southsea Kitchen and a bar, there’s live music from Chris Ricketts, Marley Blandford, Becky Jerams, The Visitors, and the Mayville High School Band.

· Finally, it’s the Taste of Gunwharf Quays festival this weekend. Here, there will be free samples, discounts and an Italian market. Music comes from Guide Award nominee Chris Perrin, Alfie Ordinary and holder of the Guide Award for Best Solo Artist Leigh Mary Stokes.
