The Pompey Pluckers, Portsmouth’s very own ukulele band is celebrating another successful year playing for charity with an event dubbed Pompulele 2016, from midday to 9pm.

Band member Plucker Pete says: ‘Ukulele is very popular and it’s great fun and everyone is welcome to come along with or without a ukulele to join in. This is our third festival and our biggest yet.’

There’ll be 16 ukulele groups from across the region playing and jamming, and the venue has massive TV screens showing the music to jam to, making it easy for everyone to join in.

There will also be opportunities for audience participation, so bring your own ukulele along and join us for a fun packed event.

There’s a suggested donation of £3 for entry, with all profits going to Artscape, an arts-based charity for adults in recovery from mental health-related disabilities.
