The troubled Gosfest has been cancelled.

Organisers released a statement early today confirming that the festival planned in Gosport for August has been scrapped.

The statement said: ‘It is with deep regret that we have to inform everyone that GosFest 2015 is cancelled and will not be taking place.

‘We have fought to this point with everything thrown at us and explored every avenue to save the festival. Unfortunately a number of events have left us with no choice but to withdraw.’

The statement said that everyone who had bought a ticket wouold be sent an email detailing how refunds would be organised.

‘All ticket holders who have brought tickets through us have been contacted; there is no need to request a refund this will be done automatically.

‘However we should stress that you must read this email carefully on receipt. Any questions relating to refunds must be sent via email, we only have a small team in the office, who work weekdays and we have no doubt that they will be very busy dealing with enquiries.

‘Bands, acts and stall holders will also be contacted’ added the stement.

News that the festival had been cancelled came shortly after it was confirmed that headliners Union J had pulled out of GosFest.

Earlier Scouting for Girls and James Arthur had quit.
