Have your say

It’s always fascinating to attend this annual festive show to discover how much these talented young musicians have matured and developed in 12 months.

And this year, the answer was... immeasurably.

The quality of the Youth Symphony Orchestra is, quite simply, stunning. With a mix of traditional music and festive fare, their programme was a delight.

The Youth Concert Band, too, showed touches of real class, with toes tapping to their exciting rendition of Rocking Around the Christmas Tree, This year’s show also included the newly-formed Western Wards Community Choir, who had their own section of the show and then joined with the Symphony Orchestra for a lovely finale of O Holy Night.

Jon Cranston, Carolyn Tudor, Lucinda Willits and the other Hampshire Music staff who help create all this - take a bow. To bring together young, raw talent and create music of this standard is awe-inspiring.

It was another night to remember.
