THE man behind GosFest has praised the community for getting behind the event.
Dave Smith organised the four-day festival, which drew to a close last night.
And with more than 20,000 people flocking to the Walpole Park site in Gosport, Mr Smith said he would be happy to put on another festival next year.
He said: ‘What a fantastic weekend.
‘The highlight was The Hoosiers performing on Sunday, and they were just brilliant.
‘They stayed on afterwards to meet their fans, which was amazing.
‘And the entire event went really well.’
Over the four days, more than 40 bands took to the stage, playing a variety of music.
There was also a funfair, and a wide selection of food drink and stalls for people to browse.
Last night, John Coghlan’s Quo finished the festival.
Mr Smith added: ‘As long as people want it, I will always be happy to organise the festival.
‘This year we were definitely up on numbers and that’s encouraging.
‘I had been flagging because it’s so hard to organise at times.
‘But people loved it, and I felt we had the support of the community.
‘Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and as long as the community is happy and want it, then I will carry on organising it.’
