Weekend music at the bandstand in Southsea continues tomorrow and Sunday with an event organised by Quay West Studios in Gosport and a folk day.
From 1pm to 4pm on both days, the bandstand at West Battery Gardens will host a range of bands.
Tomorrow, Quay West have put together an indie-rock line-up from their books.
First up is Alistair Goodwin, a Portsmouth singer-songwriter who has an album out called Songs for Seagulls and who just played at Wickham Fetival.
Then, it’s young Gosport psychedelic bluesey rock band Quartz. Next up is Gosport indie band Samphier Movie Night, who recently reached the final of The News Singer and The Song contest and have just had a track featured on a Mercedes Benz mixtape.
Finally, headlining is Mayfield, a Gosport/Portsmouth northern soul group who just brought out a new album called Tempo of your Soul.
On Sunday, it’s a folk day featuring local folk/cross-over bands Day of The Rabblement, Electric Eden and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players.
Music contunies at the bandstand each weekend until the end of the month.
