An award-winning string quartet whose members come from Canada, South Korea, France and the UK will play three works by the acknowledged master of the genre at the Spring Arts Centre, Havant, on Monday, (7.30pm).

The Hieronymus Quartet’s programme, to be introduced by Terry Barfoot, consists of Beethoven’s quartets in E-flat, Op 74 (nicknamed The Harp because of its pizzicato arpeggios in the first movement), in B-flat, Op 18 No 6, and in E-flat, Op 127. The players, who met as students at the Guildhall School of Music in London in 2011, draw on their contrasting musical backgrounds and experience with other ensembles to shape their own voice, and have been praised for their vivid and dynamic performances.

Tickets cost £14, from (023) 9247 2700 or
