Richard Harwood returns to familiar territory tomorrow (7.30pm), to play the world’s favourite cello concerto with the Havant Symphony Orchestra.

Richard, who has built an international career since making his mark as a boy soloist with the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra, will play the Dvorak masterpiece at Oaklands School, Waterlooville – near his family home.

The concert, to be directed by Jonathan Butcher at the end of a successful first season as the HSO’s principal conductor, also features the Colas Breugnon overture by Kabalevsky and the powerful fifth symphony by Shostakovich.

Tickets £6 to £18 (concessions available) from or at the door.
