Indie rock band Local Natives are heading to Southampton University Students’ Union on Tuesday as part of their tour with new album Hummingbird.

After the critical and commercial success of their debut album Gorilla Manor in November 2009, the Los Angeles-based band were launched onto the global stage.

Since then they have supported groups like Arcade Fire, The National, and Edwina Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

When Local Natives returned home they built a new studio in an abandoned bungalow and created their latest album Hummingbird, which was released in January in the UK.

For fans of bands like Fleet Foxes and Vampire Weekend, Local Natives are well worth a listen.

Support acts are Cloud Control and Breton.

Breton have announced the release of their new single Got Well Soon, due out next month on the band’s own imprint label Cut Tooth, through Believe Recordings. It’s taken from the Welsh electronic indie rock band’s second album which is scheduled for release in February.

Cloud Control are an Australian alternative rock band. They have supported Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend, Supergrass, The Magic Numbers and The Temper Trap.
