The massively acclaimed East India Youth will be coming to the Wedgewood Rooms this Thursday.
Since releasing debut album, Total Strife Forever, at the start of the year, the critical plaudits have been raining down.
The group is ostensibly one William Doyle, a 22-year-old from Bournemouth, who cut his teeth in an indie group called The Fourfathers.
But as William says: ‘My interest in electronic music, dance, ambient and noise was becoming more and more prevalent and I had been recording a lot of tracks on the side. That material later formed part of my demo.’
The music he created was an original mixture of Detroit techno, lo-fi psychedelic noise rock, synth pop and ramshackle avant-electronica.
Doors are at 8pm, and tickets cost £7.50 Go to wedgewood-rooms.co.uk, or call (023) 9286 3911.
