All roads led to Fratton Park for Madness fans this afternoon.

Thousands began arriving at Pompey’s ground for the band’s sell-out concert there tonight.

It is the first time a major open-air concert is being held at Pompey’s home ground in decades.

It’s believed the last one held was a six-hour music festival starring Georgie Fame in 1975.

Madness will be playing as part of their Grandslam tour, and club officials hope it will be the first in a series of gigs at Fratton Park in the years ahead.
