Mike Skinner at Goodwood racecourse

India Electric Company

Bringing the country into the city for folk duo India Electric Company's new project

Have your say

Playing to an unlikely crowd of smartly-dressed racegoers, Mike Skinner from The Streets spun a DJ set of tracks that have inspired his musical career.

The crowd danced in their suits in the Parade Ring, that only an hour earlier had played host to horses instead of high heels.

Luckily for all, the weather held off although dark clouds rolled across the sky providing Skinner with a dramatic backdrop. Spinning a mix of house, garage, hip-hop, jungle and dubstep, Skinner looked sharp on the decks in a black suit.

The crowd loved the original version of Let’s Push Things Forward followed by classic jungle tune Arsonist by Aphrodite mixed with Don’t Mug Yourself.

Classic garage tracks such as Daniel Beddingfield’s Gotta Get Thru This and Craig David’s Re-Rewind and more up-to-date hits such as Rudimental’s Feel The Love and Azealia Banks’ 212 whipped up the atmosphere.

Skinner rounded off the last of this year’s Three Friday Nights with Blinded by the Lights – a great way to finish an exciting event.
