Global superstar DJ to take the stage at Mutiny

Have your say

DESPITE a long absence from the music scene, The Pigeon Detectives arrived to a sold out venue.

Since the massive success of their 2006 album Wait For Me, the situation has been challenging. They lost out to The Enemy for best New Act at the Q Awards in 2007 and their 2008 release, Emergency, was not so well received. And so the band took time out.

Now they are back with the third album Up, Guards And At ‘Em!’, and from the audience participation and general melee at this gig, the band definitely made a deserved comeback.

Entering the stage to The Beastie Boys Sabotage, the Pigeons frequently splayed drinks on the audience.

Starting with I’m Not Gonna Take This from the second album, lead singer Matt Bowman hyped up the crowd and display great showmanship.

With the exception of the ballad Turn Out The Lights, the night was deemed a success. The encore was the anthemic I’m Not Sorry and none of us were.
