Bringing the country into the city for folk duo India Electric Company's new project

Have your say

Since winning the Critics’ Choice award at this years BRITs, Chichester’s Tom Odell has shot to success.

So it was interesting to see if he would live up to the good name he’s been given by the industry.

And he certainly didn’t disappoint when he performed at Southampton Guildhall.

He is a true performer and what I loved was being able to watch a talented pianist with a real passion for what he does.

He kicked off with the opening track on the album Grow Old With Me followed by Can’t Pretend.

He also sung a number of tracks from his debut album Long Way Down including Sirens and Hold Me.

But the biggest roar came when he performed his top 10 hit Another Love.

Tom didn’t follow the usual concert pattern, singing his biggest songs before the encore.

I think that makes him stand out as a unique artist who wants to be different. On this evidence, he’s got a long career ahead of him and I look forward to listening to his next album.
