SAME Difference return with a new album next month – and they are launching it at Asda in Fratton.

The brother and sister duo from Widley, who found fame on The X Factor, release their second album, The Rest Is History, on February 7.

Sean and Sarah Smith will celebrate with a signing at Asda in Fratton from 5pm on the day.

The duo are also hoping to perform some of their new material at the launch event, although details are still to be confirmed for the live set.

Sarah said: ‘We’re really excited about people hearing our new material. We can’t wait to get it out there.

‘It feels more like us this time because we’ve had an input.

‘We’ve put so much effort into it.’

The pair were finalists on The X Factor in 2007 and signed a deal with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, releasing the 180,000-selling album Pop.

But Sarah says the second album has been a very different experience.

‘It’s different when you have the Syco machine behind you. They do everything for you.

‘So, we’re more nervous about things like the signings this time because it’s all down to us,’ she admitted.

Since the end of their Syco contract, Sean and Sarah – now aged 25 and 22 – have been working towards a more mature sound and last year they unveiled a new look, leaving behind the High School Musical image for something more in keeping with their pop peers.

‘We’ve grown up a lot,’ continued Sarah.

‘The new material is music you could listen to in a club or a bar.

‘It’s pop music for adults and teenagers, as well as kids.’

The duo hope people of all ages will turn out at Asda for the album launch.

Sarah said: ‘We’re performing all over the country throughout the week, but Portsmouth is first, on the day of the release, and we really want to impress in our hometown.’

They will also be performing live on ITV1’s This Morning on the day of the album launch.

Sarah revealed: ‘We’ll be rushing back from London to do the signing in the evening. It’s going to be crazy but it’s going to be great.

‘These are exciting times for us.’
