Stars of The Voice to support Tom Jones at Stansted Park concert

Have your say

With a mix of flamboyant glam rock and disco, Scissors Sisters graced us with their New Yorker charm.

Touring with their fourth album, Magic Hour, Jake Shears, Ana Matronic, Babydaddy, Del Marquis and Randy Real (with names like that you have to introduce them all!) delivered a rapturous set, cancelling-out the lacklustre DJ support act prior.

Starting with Any Which Way got the crowd on their feet and the gorgeous Matronic enthused that the UK is their spiritual home.

The usual hits followed and my favourites of the night were Pink Floyd’s Comfortably Numb (some covers do work) and Kiss You Off.

Shears lived up to his reputation for stage antics and, after several costume changes, it was inevitable we would be greeted by his toned torso. And rightly so.

New track Only the Horses seemed a little more European techno for my liking but Let’s Have a Kiki had us all feeling upbeat and they closed the encore with Music is the Victim.
