A trio of soulful musicians are getting ready to play at the North Boarhunt Social Club on Monday.

The event, part of a regular ‘Forest Folk’ series of concerts, will feature Janet Dowd, Brendan Goff and Tom Leary.

Dowd, who hails from Northern Ireland, has been singing for more than 20 years with various bands both in Ireland and England is known for her diverse musical style.

She has released two albums, ‘300 Miles’ – a collection of traditional folk songs with a hint of bluegrass, and ‘Sailing Away’, a celebration of folk and Americana musicals.

In December 2013, Sailing Away took the Number 1 spot in Irish Music Magazine’s Top 10 album.

Leary has collaborated with musicians including John B Spencer, Phil Bates, Clem Clempson and Steve Gibbons.
