Robin Browning, the regular conductor of the Petersfield Orchestra, will again take charge of the Havant Chamber Orchestra for its concert at Holy Trinity Church, Fareham, on Saturday, May 18 (7.30pm).

Having made a big impression when replacing the indisposed Peter Craddock at the HCO’s February performance, Browning again steps in to conduct an unchanged programme in which the strings can revel in the church’s glowing acoustics.

As well as Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Dvorak’s Serenade For Strings, the programme features regular principal flute Catherine Nicholson as soloist in Bach’s Suite No 2 and young Hampshire saxophonist Victoria Puttock in the concerto by Glazunov.

She is a former student of the Havant orchestras’ clarinettist Rob Blanken and flautist Helen Walton.

Tickets: £12 on (01243) 377430.
