Romantic Russian melodies will be to the fore when the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra returns to Portsmouth Guildhall next Friday.

Tunes later used in the film, Kismet, feature in Borodin’s Overture to Prince Igor. Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No 2 includes a theme later used in a film to accompany autumnal views from the Moscow river.
