Global superstar DJ to take the stage at Mutiny

Have your say

It was to be an intimate night of acoustic music as Inspiral Carpets frontman Tom Hingley returned to The Cellars at Eastney with his blend of acoustic pop-rock and blues.

Local singer-songwriter Luke ‘LKV’ Varndell got things going with his acoustic rock style. The small but noisy crowd showed their appreciation as Luke treated us to songs such as Frankenstein’s Monster, Preacher’s Daughter and his cracking new track Almost Famous.

Tom Hingley was given a warm welcome as he took to the stage and wasted no time in spoiling us all with a powerful and passion-filled performance, his incredible vocals and masterful guitar playing really were a joy to behold.

Tom played a mixture of tunes old and new which included Don’t Want To Be A Fighter Any More, as well as Inspiral Carpets classics This s How It Feels, Dragging Me Down and my personal favourite Saturn 5.

As the set drew to an end, Hingley covered James’ classic Sit Down, before leaving the stage to join the crowd for a drink, proving yet again that as well as being an incredibly talented musician, he is also a genuinely nice bloke.
