Chichester will host two professional orchestral concerts in the space of five days either side of the turn of the month.
First the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will be in the cathedral on Saturday, September 28 (7.30pm), to play the Karelia Suite by Sibelius, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto with Timothy Orpen as soloist, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 4. Maxime Tortelier conducts.

Then on Wednesday, October 2 (7.30pm), the BBC Concert Orchestra and principal conductor Johannes Waldner will visit Chichester Festival Theatre’s acclaimed temporary structure, the Theatre in the Park.
The popular Bruch Violin Concerto No 1 will be played by award-winning young Canadian Alexandre Da Costa, and the concert also features the Symphony No 5 by Sibelius.
