Gin Festival heads for Portsmouth Guildhall

Gin lovers are looking forward to a tasty two days in Portsmouth.

Gin Festival will be held at the Guildhall on August 12 and 13, with more than 100 different gins available.

Organisers say the event has a quirky retro feel and that guests can enjoy live music and entertainment whilst sipping on endless amounts of gin.

‘A fine selection of food and snacks will also be available on the day. There’s even the opportunity to expand your knowledge by dropping along to one of the many masterclasses held by some of the best brands in the gin industry’ said a spokesman.

Tickets are £7.50, which includes a specially designed Copa glass to keep and a welcome pack, including a brochure of all the gins available to try. Drink tokens cost £5.

The festival will run across three sessions as follows:

Friday 12th August 2016: Evening Session 6.30pm - 11pm

Saturday 13th August 2016: Afternoon Session 12.30pm - 5pm

Saturday 13th August 2016: Evening Session 6.30pm - 11pm

Jym Harris, who founded Gin Festival with his wife Marie said: ‘We originally started Gin Festival as we absolutely love gin and couldn’t find any events to attend like ours, so we started our own! We couldn’t have predicted how quickly the company and demand for events would grow in only a few years. We love that we can bring the joy and diversity of great gin to gin lovers all over the UK.‘
