Here are the Hampshire restaurants named in the 2017 Michelin Guide
Two Hampshire restaurants have been given a Michelin star in this year's guide, but another restaurant has lost theirs.
JSW in Petersfield and Black Rat in Winchester are named in the 2017 edition.
JSW head chef Jake Watkins first won a Michelin star in 2002, and has previously worked for esteemed chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
The Black Rat restaurant, in Chesil Street, was first awarded a star in 2011.
But it was bad news for The Montagu Arms in Beaulieu, which lost its star for its flagship The Terrace restaurant.
General manager Sunil Kanjanghat told the Daily Echo that the loss was down to a extensive £400,000 kitchen refurb which coincided with the inspector’s visit, and meant they could only offer a limited menu.
Two Hampshire restaurants have been awarded a Bib1 Gourmand, which highlight restaurants offering ‘exceptional good food at moderate prices.’
The Sun Inn in Dummer and Pulpo Negro in Old Alresford have been added to this year’s guide.
Bakers Arms in Droxford and Purefoy Arms in Preston Candover - which is now closed - have been removed.
