Colin Wilding, general manager at Gunwharf Quays, said ‘We are thrilled to welcome these iconic cars to the centre’.

He also mentioned photographers coming along, and said: ‘Our unique waterfront location will provide a spectacular setting, giving supercar-enthusiasts a fantastic photo opportunity’.

The public are encouraged to take pictures and send them to Ferrari for a chance for them to feature in the 70th anniversary collage.

The cars will arrive at 2pm and will leave Gunwharf at 4.30 pm to continue their tour of the UK.

The anniversary celebrations started in the manufacturer’s home town of Maranello and the festivities have spread across the world.

This is a result of the popularity of the beautiful cars that started with the ‘125 S’, the first car to bear Enzo Ferrari’s name in 1947.

This first Ferrari to grace the road was built for racing and from there has come the renowned modern supercar.

Electrification seems to be the future of Ferrari with talk of all cars being hybrid in 2019 in an effort to ‘cut emissions and fuel consumption’, chief executive Sergio Marchionne told Reuters last year.

He said the move would ‘yield additional performance’ and excite any car enthusiast with the prospect of a more powerful supercar.

Possibly more exciting for fans is the talk of a new generation Dino, one of the brand’s most popular vehicle creations, and perhaps something to feature in the next anniversary.

The UK tour runs until August 12.
