This year marks the 400th anniversary of the death of the world-famous playwright, poet and actor.

George Burrows, conductor of the university choir, said: ‘It’s quite rare for the two choirs to work together on a concert like this, so Sunday’s concert promises to be something very special indeed.

‘Between us we have a wealth of singing talent, and the varied programme means there will be something for everyone.

‘The cathedral is a beautiful setting and will show off our massed voices magnificently.’
