Dubbed Mandela 100, the showcase has been organised by the African Women's Forum (AWF) and will go on display at Central Library in Guildhall Walk.

Boosted by £28,100 from the Heritage Lottery Fund, its aim is to teach people about the values the South African anti-apartheid revolutionary held. Its name ties in with Mandela's birth date, July 18, 1918, a century ago.

Ahead of its launch, organisers of the exhibition are also trying to speak to people from Portsmouth pictured at anti-apartheid marches and Mandela's visit to Brixton, London in 1996.
